Taking inspiration from the student presentation on vocations included in this issue, Brother Sixtus Roslevich discusses some of the monastery’s involvement in the cultivation of monastic vocations.
John Paul Devaney, a member of Portsmouth Abbey School’s class of 2025, offered this talk at a Church Assembly for the School, in which he speaks of his personal experience which has been directing him towards a monastic vocation.
This month’s “Artist of the Abbey” was indeed long a member of this community, as faculty spouse, Assistant to the Head of School, Assistant to the Abbot, daily communicant. While the McGuire name is associated here with art, many think of Donald McGuire, Eileen’s husband, without realizing that Eileen herself was a trained and skilled artist in her own right.
