the 40th of his monastic life

Fr. Paschal Scotti graduated from Columbia University in 1983 with a degree in history and joined the monastery that summer. He earned an M.Div. from the Dominican House of Studies in Washington, D.C., and a degree (J.C.L.) in canon law from the Catholic University of America. Fr. Paschal taught in the History Department, the Humanities Department, and the Christian Doctrine Department (where he was chairman for many years), and recently taught just in the History Department in the School. He was also an assistant houseparent in St. Benet’s and St. Leonard’s for some years. Besides writing a number of articles and encyclopedia entries he published two books - Galileo Revisited: The Galileo Affair in Context (2017) and Out of Due Time: Wilfrid Ward and the Dublin Review (2006).
