Brother Benedict Maria has requested to make solemn vows with the Portsmouth Abbey monastic community, a request that has been accepted joyfully, with preparations underway. The great Solemnity of All Saints, November 1, 2021 (8:30am), marks the date of his complete entry into monastic life. We joyfully await the occasion: please save the date and keep Brother Benedict and the monastic community in prayer, and please join us for this Mass if you are able.

This past week, Luis Bizarro began the much needed repair work to the throne of masonry beneath the monastery's large bell, Saint David, which has noticeably begun to crack and crumble. We look at his handiwork.

Perseverance, Paradox, and ProfessionReflecting on the commitment of Br. Benedict in solemn profession, I found myself wallowing in my own indecisions. But maybe this opened for the likes of me a lesson in perseverance. -
