Praesidium Accreditation Announced

The monastery recently completed its full, three-year accreditation with Praesidium, an accrediting agency specializing in abuse prevention and the safeguarding of minors. We explain further this important process for the monastery.

Farewell, Winter

March 20 this year marks the equinox, and the first day of spring. This happens to coincide with the return of boarding students to begin the School’s spring session. And it nearly coincides with the March 21 Transitus of Saint Benedict, which in fact is displaced a day, as it lands this year on a Sunday. To mark these transitions, we share some of our photos from 2011 of well-wintered statues of saints, together with images from this winter, all currently posted on our Facebook page.

March OnThis week and this season seem to represent for me an ongoing “reality check.” This year, in particular, we know well the discontent of our winter. From the depths of Lent, we may feel a call to persevere.
